Intuition & Logic is providing floodplain design, bridge and culvert sizing and hydraulic design, geomorphic channel analysis and design, permitting and associated HEC-RAS modeling for hydraulic conveyance and FEMA mapping for this flood control project as part of a multi-firm team. The project involves new bridges, raised roadways, and channel modifications for flood conveyance for 1.3 miles of stream, 1,300 feet of which is currently enclosed in a 5X10 culvert, 8 roadway crossings, and 3 pedestrian bridges.

The design includes 6 new roadway bridge/culvert configurations for Grant St., Main Street, Campbell Street, Bennett Street, Jefferson Street, and Roanoke Street. Additionally, 2,000 ft of channel reconfiguration and restoration, 900 ft of new channel day-lighting, and 400 ft of new double 5’X10’ box culvert under Holland and Kimbrough Street. Construction of the new Grant, Main and Campbell bridges is projected for 2010.
